Salon Seudun Sukututkijat r.y.
In the year 1985 established society Salon Seudun Sukututkijat r.y. (registered) is one of the biggest genealogical societies in Finland. In the end of the year 2012 the amount of the members of association was 360 members. Specially young people have found the hobby of the genealogy in the ninety's and thereby our society too. Our annual membership fee is 12 Euros.
The goal of Salon Seudun Sukututkijat is to promote the genealogical and person historic studies as well as to act as a link between devotees of genealogy. Our target is to include as much as possible the wishes of our members to the planning of our activities.
The most of our members live or are from Salo region. Our subjects of the studies are spread however all over the Finland and even abroad. Among the families represented are families from Salo region, but also exceptional well represented are the families from Karelia isthmus, the formal historic Finnish region, that has belonged to Russia since second world war 1944.
